Cover Art: Books + Playbills

This collection highlights cover art I was commissioned to design for book covers and playbills, many of which also served as key art for live theatrical productions. For Toy Chest, an academic exploration of children and toys throughout history, I designed a wooden case to house significant objects from the book, infusing it with a creative twist: scientific catalog tags styled like entomological labels, evoking the essence of an anthropological study. Earworm explores familial tension through symbolic visuals, including stark imagery of a luxury high-rise tied to loss, while the approved final version featured the simple but striking image of the title’s typography squiggling its way into a woman’s ear. A personal favorite of mine is Foot Foul, a bowling alley murder mystery where I created a visual wordplay—pairing a classic “gumshoe” detective reference with a wad of gum stuck to the bottom of a bowling shoe. The playbill and poster key art for Sons of Eve spotlighted the cast within a dynamic, paint-splattered framing device, focusing on the duality of twin brothers at the center of the story. Each design reflects a deliberate balance of storytelling, wit, and visual intrigue.
